Runway Visitor Park
The Runway Visitor Park is an amazing vantage point to get up close with the aircraft. For photography the park has three mounds, one which is much larger but lower than the other two. It contains picnic tables, benches and a wheel chair ramp leading up onto the mound. There is a restaurant but be prepared to pay. The Aviation shop is a kids dream with thousands of different aircraft models, books and magazines on sale.
At the park there are five aircraft, the front section of a 1980 Monarch Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-10, BEA Trident Three, Avro RJX, Hawker Siddeley Nimrod and finally the most exciting aircraft... Concorde G-BOAC. Throughout the week you are able to book tours on the aircraft but on the weekend, one of the aircraft excluding Concorde is open all day and free to the public.
